On the 4th of October 2018, Year 3 had Stone Age Day. Everyone came to school dressed up as Stone Age people and we did loads of activities based around the time period, giving us a taste of Stone Age life.

A week later, on Friday 12th of October, we had a visit from Stone Age people!
They pitched their camp on our field and invited us into experience Stone Age life in even more detail. We got to try so many cool things, like making and using tools, preparing real animal skins and had a very hands on experience. It was amazing and a great way to see history in action!
On Thursday 13th December, Year 3 had a Roman day. The children got the chance to dress up in Roman (or Celtic) costumes and we spent the day doing Roman themed Activities.
First, we talked about Roman numerals and how they worked. Then we each made a Roman numeral mosaic and used this to make a whole class Roman numberline.
We also painted frescoes based on images of paintings that have been found from the Roman times. We used watercolours to make them, and decorated our classroom with them.
The afternoon was the most fun part of the whole day. We had a feast! We brought in food and drink similar to what the Romans would have eaten and we got to try it all. We also got the chance to listen to Roman style music, lounge around like royalty and some of us put on excellent entertainment.
