At James Dixon we have a passion for independent learning and The Bromley Children’s University is an excellent opportunity for children to develop their excitement towards learning.
The Children's University aims to promote high quality out-of-school-hours activities to children aged 5 to 14. Whilst attending the validated clubs and learning destinations, children will earn learning hours for their Passport to Learning. The ambition is to boost achievement and aspirations, promote participation and for the children to discover new enjoyable methods of learning. Some of the benefits of being involved in the Children’s University are learning new skills, developing abilities and enjoyment from succeeding from their learning.
We are one of the first schools to proudly join Bromley Children’s University. So far we have over 150 children taking part in the scheme, collecting their learning points and working towards graduation! When a child has completed 30 learning hours, they can claim a certificate which will be presented at James Dixon. More participation means more learning points and bigger rewards! For example, when a child has completed 100 hours, they will attend a Graduation day which is held at Bromley College of Further Education and Higher Education.
