Year 3 had a fantastic time being prehistoric people during our Stone Age Day. We built shelters and bows and arrows using logs, sticks and twine, and even had a go at making fire! We learnt that fire was essential for life during the Stone Age. In class we recreated Stonehenge using shortbread biscuits, learning about the different types of stone used and what archaeologists think it was built for. What an amazing day!
We spent the day preparing for our feast in the afternoon. We created mosaics of Roman numerals and we also used watercolours to create Roman frescoes. They were then our feast decorations.
Finally, we had our feast! We took turns to be slaves, nobles and performers. We ate a lot of Roman food!
