School Closure & Severe Weather

Should we need to take the precaution of closing the school, for example in the instance of severe weather, the breakdown of the heating system or if conditions prevent a sufficient number of staff from attending, the following steps will be taken in priority order:

1. Update on the school website www.jamesdixon.bromley.sch.uk

2. Text message via Teachers2Parents to be sent

Please ensure that your child has appropriate clothing for the weather, even if you drive them to school. We allow the children to have supervised playtime in the snow once a site check has been completed and it is deemed to be safe. As a 'Learning Outside the Classroom' we may use snow as an opportunity to enhance the curriculum.

As you will appreciate, closing the school is not a decision that is taken lightly and will be made with the health and safety of the children in mind.
