At James Dixon we have a passion for independent learning and The Bromley Children’s University is an excellent opportunity for children to develop their excitement towards learning.
The Children's University aims to promote high quality out-of-school-hours activities to children aged 5 to 14. Whilst attending the validated clubs and learning destinations, children will earn learning hours for their Passport to Learning. The ambition is to boost achievement and aspirations, promote participation and for the children to discover new enjoyable methods of learning. Some of the benefits of being involved in the Children’s University are learning new skills, developing abilities and enjoyment from succeeding from their learning.
We are one of the first schools to proudly join Bromley Children’s University. So far we have over 150 children taking part in the scheme, collecting their learning points and working towards graduation! When a child has completed 30 learning hours, they can claim a certificate which will be presented at James Dixon.
More participation means more learning points and attending the graduation day, kindly offered, at Bromley College of Higher Education.
All James Dixon clubs are designed to meet the criteria of a CU learning destination which we will validate.
Sorry but we can validate JD clubs ONLY.
There are numerous activities across the whole of the country offering extra curricular learning opportunities. By clicking the CU icon below it will take you to the search page on the CU website where you can find learning destinations by postcode or town search.
Why not visit clock up some hours the next time your perhaps visiting family or friends during the school break and there are also lots of downloadable sheets to collect hours with, just follow the instructions on the website to claim them.
Please note, we cannot validate any activities outside of JD clubs, if you do not get the activity validated or take part in activity that is not part of the CU scheme we will not be able to count the hours.
GETTING YOUR PASSPORT STAMPED!
Simply post your passport into the box in the school office area and Miss Mitchell will collect them and stamp them. This is important so we know how many hours you have and if your ready for graduation!
