The term Pupil Premium describes the funding the school receives for those pupils who are eligible and registered for free school meals over the last six years. It also includes Looked After Children (LAC children in care). The Pupil Premium funding is used to raise attainment and progress and over come gaps in learning.
The Pupil Premium Grant was first allocated to our school in the academic year 2011/12. The allocation is dependent upon the number of children eligible for Free School Meals. The school spent the allocation on a Reading Teacher, one to one tuition and extra resources. This led to further improvement in pupil progress across the school and significantly improved SATs results. Since the first allocation of the Pupil Premium Grant the school has continued spending the allocation in ways which sustain pupil progress and achievement.
